Laurie Woolever will present a Town Hall Lecture at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14 at the North Platte Community Playhouse.

Woolever’s topic will be “What I learned from traveling with Bourdain.”

Author, food writer and host of Carbface for Radio podcast, Woolever spent years working as a longtime assistant to chef and restaurateur Mario Batali as well as lieutenant for the late Anthony Bourdain.

Woolever has written about food, travel and wine for numerous publications, including the New York Times, Food & Wine, Vogue and others. She is the author of World Travel: An Irreverent Guide and Bourdain: The Definitive Oral Biography.

On stage, Woolever shares her experiences traveling the globe with Anthony Bourdain and the valuable lessons learned about traveling, cooking and culture.

A question-and-answer period will follow the lecture at the North Platte Community Playhouse, following a brief intermission.
