Beverly June Wegner (Winters), 86, passed away on July 1, 2026 in North Platte in her home surrounded by family and friends.

Bev was born on August 4, 1939 in North Platte, NE to Marion and Goldie (Small) Kautz. She spent the majority of her childhood in North Platte and graduated with the class of ‘58.

Bev married Roy Winters, (bringing his two children Nancy and George into her life), on Dec 3, 1959 and to this union 3 children were born: Marian, Kenny, and Bruce. Roy later passed away in 1980. Bev was then blessed with finding love again and married Bruno Wegner on March 22, 1996. Bruno brought 2 sons to this union- Bruce and Dale.

Bev worked a variety of jobs: waitressing, housekeeper, and her favorite was being a CNA, where she devoted much of her time to hospice care in Alaska and Washington. Her last job was as a groundskeeper at the Sutherland rest area.

Bev is survived by her children, Marian Randall of NE, Kenneth (Lynette) Winters of NE, and Bruce Winters of SD; stepsons, Bruce and Dale Wegner.

Grandchildren, Misty (Jarrett) Smolarkiewicz of KS, George (Macy) Winters of NE, Rick (Amanda) Winters of SD, Jordan (Bryan) Gibbons of WA, Ryan (Katie) Winters of NE, Faith Winters (Zack) of CO, Hope (Stirling) McCook of AZ; Kimberli (Wesley) Harmon of NE, Crystal Flores of MN, and granddaughter in law Ashley Winters; great grandchildren, Ajoni, Kiros, Xayden Smolarkiewicz, Landon, Ila, Anthony, Jesse, Elizabeth, Sophie, and expected great grandson Oliver Winters; Carter Eagle Road, Skylee, John, Copeland Gibbons, Milo McCook, Olivia Edwards, Leighton and Sophia Harmon, Nicholas, Samuel, and Estella Lopez; brother, Dave (Joyce) Kautz; brother-in-law, Ernie Schmidt; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Chuck Matthews and Alice and Ryan King; as well as numerous extended family and friends; a void will also be felt by her beloved pup, Bruno.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Benjamin and Lydia Kautz and Charles and Viola Small; two husbands, Roy Winters and Bruno Wegner; grandsons, Roy Lee and Kenny Winters; brothers, Alvin Lee Roy, George, and Bill Kautz; sister, Irene Schmidt.

Services will be held at Adam and Swanson funeral home on Monday, July 6 at 11 a.m. with Chaplain Brenda Lee officiating. Inurnment to follow at Fort McPherson National Cemetery. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
