It’s time to send nominations for the Christmas lighting contest, organized by Keep North Platte and Lincoln County Beautiful and the North Platte Bulletin.

You have time to get things perfect, KNPLCB Executive Director Mona Anderson said. Entries will be judged Friday-Sunday, Dec.13-15.

The lights must be on from 5-10 p.m. those nights so the decor can be seen from the street.

To nominate your home or another’s, notify KNPLCB by 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10. The first place winners from 2018 will be ineligible to win a prize in 2019.

Anyone can nominate a home. Submit the name of owner, address, brief description of the display, a photo (if possible), and directions that might help locate the property.

Send the nominations in one of these ways:

• Email:

• Phone: 308-534-8100 – leave a message with requested information.

• Facebook message:  Keep North Platte and Lincoln County Beautiful.

Prize money will be awarded to the winners, and photos of the homes will be published in special editions of the Bulletin.

Winners will be selected in each of North Platte’s four city wards as well as at least one home outside of city limits, within Lincoln County.

Judging will be based on curb appeal, balance, theme and maintenance.

It’s important to get your nomination in, because only the homes that are nominated will be judged. One nomination is enough — the judges will decide the winners.

“Good luck, and may the best bulbs win,” Anderson said.
