Wallace lost 51-28 to Guardian Angels Central Catholic on Saturday in the district final at West Point.

After winning the D2-6 championship, GACC (15-11) advances to the Nebraska State Tournament while Wallace ends their season with a 19-8 record.

The Bluejays’ defense made it tough on Wallace the whole game. GACC led 12-5 at the end of the first quarter and they stretched their advantage to 23-9 at halftime.

Things opened up a little bit for the Wildcats in the third quarter but they couldn’t stop the Bluejays on the other end and GACC led by 15 going into the fourth quarter, where they put it away.

Despite falling short of state, Wallace had a remarkable season considering they had no seniors. That means they should bring back all of their personnel next year. That includes the two leading scorers, juniors Colt Franklin and Max Hanson. Franklin averaged 16.5 points-per-game and Hanson 14.5.
