Perkins County gradually wore down the North Platte St. Pat’s Lady Irish on Friday in their 56-22 win at the McGahan Activities Center.
The game began with each team making a three-pointer. Hannah Bishop scored the first points for Perkins County (6-4) and Brooke Brosius answering for St. Pat’s (0-11). Perkins County scored the next 10 points on baskets by Ella Homan, Jacqueline Gloy, Lauren Bishop, Madison Potts and Addie York.
Jade Welch hit a three to close the first quarter and bring the Lady Irish to within 13-6. St. Pat’s came closer in the beginning of the second quarter. Ruby Uerling scored the first two points of the quarter. Then after Homan made a free throw for the Lady Plainsmen, Olivia Phelps got another one to go down for the Irish.
But the offense slowed to a halt after that for St. Pat’s. Perkins County scored the next six points to go back up by double figures. It was 25-12 at halftime and the Lady Plainsmen dominated the second half to win going away.
Next, the Irish will host Cozad (2-10) on Saturday.
