The Hershey Lady Panthers ran past the Paxton Lady Tigers, 48-32, Tuesday in the Hershey High School gym.

Hershey (7-13) used depth and defensive pressure to pull away from Paxton (2-17) in the final quarter.

The victory put an end to the Panther’s five-game losing streak.

Paxton’s nine player roster stayed close in the first quarter and only trailed by two points at the end of the period. The Panthers moved fresh players in and out throughout the game, built an eight-point lead by halftime, and wore down the Tigers.

Paxton’s Josie Callihan led all scorers with 14 points to keep the Tigers close. Hayley Hebblethwaite added six points.

Jenna Frels had 13 points for the Panthers and Shayda Vaugh hit double figures with 11. Dayonna Roberts scored seven, including a pair of treys.

The Panthers were 9-14 from the free throw line. Paxton hit 4-10 from the charity stripe.

Next, the Panthers will host rival St. Pat’s (16-6) on Thursday while Paxton will return home to take on Sutherland (3-15.)
