The Hershey boys’ and girls’ basketball teams won the Greg Miller Memorial Holiday Tournament on their home court on Tuesday.
In the girls’ championship game, Hershey defeated Red Cloud 63-49.
The Lady Panthers (6-2) stormed ahead early, doubling up the Warriors after the first quarter 22-11. Hershey extended their lead in the second quarter to hold a 36-19 halftime advantage.
Red Cloud, who came into the game undefeated after winning their first six games, tried to get back into the game in the second half and they were within 10 at 51-41 going into the fourth quarter. But the Panthers held them off to get the win.
Hershey had three players in double figures led by Kenna Bringewatt with 20. Kamryn Butterfield and Demi DaMoude followed with 17 and 16, respectively.
Hershey boys shoot past Twin Loup
In the boys’ final, Hershey defeated Twin Loup 75-48.
The Panthers (4-4) got off to a fast start, leading 26-11 over the Wolves from Sargent (7-2).
Hershey never looked back after that as Twin Loup couldn’t slow them down and the Panthers got their third straight win.
Hershey was led by Aidan Truesdale who had 27 points, including five three-pointers. Houston Hill had 16 with four threes and Sam Fowler had nine with three treys.
Next, the Hershey boys and girls will play at South Loup on Tuesday, Jan. 6.
