Hershey couldn’t achieve much flow offensively on Saturday as they lost 58-33 at home to Chase County.

Hershey (2-14) scored the first two points when Max Berntson made a pair of free throws. But Chase County (9-9) took the lead on a three-pointer by Lukas Fries. Noah Rau followed with a pair of free throws and Tristan Jablonski got a layup. After the Jablonski basket, Hershey turned the ball over which led to a Camron Lempke layup.

At the end of the first quarter, the Panthers were only down 11-8 after Aidan Truesdale made a three. But the Longhorns took control in the second quarter.

Chase County scored the first three points of the second from the free throw line before baskets by Lempke and Carson Terryberry gave them a 10-point lead. Terryberry scored again with a couple of free throws before Hershey finally scored their first points of the second when Ty Vaughn banked in a three.

The Longhorns led 25-13 at halftime and the lead continued to grow after the break. The Panthers couldn’t string together enough baskets to make a run in the second half.

Next, Hershey will host Kearney Catholic (9-8) on Tuesday.
