Applications are now open for NebraskaLand University (NLU), a free financial literacy scholarship program tailored for high school seniors.

The six-course program equips students with essential life skills, including budgeting, savings, credit management, loan basics, career development, identity theft protection, and strategies for paying for college.

The deadline to apply is Sept. 8.

The course combines expert-led instruction with curriculum crafted by senior and executive officers at Nebraskaland Bank. During the past decade, the program has awarded approximately $124,250 in scholarships to more than 400 high school graduates. The program launched in 2014.

High school seniors in North Platte and surrounding areas are encouraged to apply for the upcoming session.

To qualify for a scholarship, students must complete all six courses and participate in a competitive capstone essay contest judged by a bank committee. The top three essays will earn $1,000, $750, and $500 academic scholarships, respectively.

All program graduates will receive a $250 academic scholarship provided by NebraskaLand Bank. Interested students should act quickly. With limited class sizes, spots can fill up fast. Applications are available online at www.NebraskaLandUniversity.com
