Nebraska State Patrol investigators conducted alcohol compliance checks in Lincoln County on Friday evening, Feb. 27 at several businesses.
NSP spokeswoman Mikayla Hall said 12 businesses were checked. Two of them sold alcohol to a minor and one did not not check the minor’s ID, for a compliance rate of 83%.
The businesses included convenience stores, restaurants, bars, and liquor stores.
Hall said businesses that sell alcohol to minors are referred to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission. Clerks who sell alcohol to a minor are cited for buying alcohol for a minor.
The project cost of $427,899 is funded by the Region II Human Services Substance Abuse Prevention, Treatment and Recovery Services Block Grant (1B08TI088119-01) through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), contracted through the division of behavioral health of the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.

$427,899 to illegally have a minor try to buy alcohol at 12 different businesses? I hope my eyes are playing tricks on me. At most that should be maybe a few hundred dollars. Throwing around money like that stuff grows on trees like weeds
Good question Dave. We’re checking on it.
As of the end of business day on Wednesday, NSP had not responded.
