Investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol conducted alcohol compliance checks in Dundy, Chase, and Hitchcock counties on Sunday, Oct. 27.
In total, seven businesses were checked, two of which sold alcohol to a minor, for a compliance rate of 71%. NSP spokeswoman Mikayla Hall said.
Hall said all businesses checked the minor’s identification before sale, but the Liquor Store in Benkelman
and the Pizza Hut in Imperial sold to a minor.
Retail businesses were checking, including convenience stores, restaurants, bars, and liquor stores.
Businesses that sell alcohol to minors are referred to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission. Clerks who sell alcohol to minors are cited for procuring alcohol for a minor, Hall said.
This project is funded by the Region II Human Services SUPTBG ($427,899.00, 6B08TIO85820-01M002) through SAMHSA, (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) contracted through the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Behavioral Health.
