On Sept. 17, 2024, Alan “Walter” Warner passed away at Centennial Park Retirement Village at the age of 87.
Walter was born to Walter and Beth (Hutchinson) Warner on Nov. 12, 1936 in Scottsbluff.
As a child, Walter’s family moved to Denver, where he grew up and graduated from Alameda High School in Lakewood, Colo.
Shortly after graduating, Walter married Judith McCoy in 1958, and the couple brought four boys into the world: Dan, Paul, Brian and Kevin.
After separating, Walter married Sheila Eads in 2005. Walter spent most of his life in Colorado but moved to North Platte in 2015.
For the entirety of his working life, Walter drove a truck, driving for Walmart for the last 16 years of his career, until he retired in 2015 at the age of 79.
If Walter wasn’t driving his truck, he was horseback riding. Horses were his greatest passion outside of his family and his career. He was known as a kind, hardworking, and honest man and always helpful to those who needed a little extra.
Survivors of Walter include his sons, Dan (Sarah) Warner, Paul Warner, Brian (Julie) Warner and Kevin (Jill) Warner; grandkids, Jacob, Julie, Joseph and Ray; great grandkids; siblings, Rick, Kelly, Tim, and Crete; other family and friends.
Those that precede him in death are his parents; his wife, Sheila; his brother, Clay; and grandson, Justin
Date and time for a graveside service are pending. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
