Alan (Skaz) Kent Pipal, 74, formerly of Sutherland, NE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Aug.21, 2024 at Wahoo.
He was born on June 18, 1950 in Oakland, to Ed and Gladys (Drummond) Pipal.
On Aug.13, 1973, he was united in marriage to Cathy Biere in Hooper. He attended high school at Hooper High and graduated in 1968. Alan enlisted in the United States Airforce and served his country proudly for four years.
He worked for Nebraska Public Power at the Gerald Gentleman Station as an Operator and retired from there after 20 plus years. He enjoyed his family, Nebraska football, hiking and riding his bike.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Cathy of Gold Canyon, Arizona; two sisters, Diane (Dean) Tickle of Loop City, Gay (Warren) Dose of Uehling; a brother, Steve (Donna) Pipal of Fremont; aunt, Mary (Leon) Bruns of Pender, NE; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Ed and Gladys Pipal; grandparents, Clarence and May Drummond; two brothers, Tony and Kevin Pipal; two nephews, Ryan Dose and Shawn Snover.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024 at Riverview Cemetery in Sutherland. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon, at the American Legion Hall in Sutherland, NE following the graveside service at Noon. Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte has been entrusted with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for future designation.
