Kevin Kerr of North Platte got more than a chance to show off his antique 1937 International Harvester F-20 tractor Saturday, June 8 during Heritage Days.

Kerr received sets of flowers from his son and granddaughters to help him celebrate his 40th wedding anniversary during the antique tractor show on Saturday afternoon.

The flowers were a surprise for him when he stopped in front of the bleachers to let the audience get a good look at his classic tractor.

There were 20 entries in the annual tractor show, all in excellent working order. Judges said it was difficult to rate one better than another.

Rene Assels of Brady won the competition with a fully restored 1955 Allis-Chalmers G and mounted 1- bottom plow.

The AC G model was designed for small farms and vegetable gardeners, with a line of implements specifically designed for it, including ploughs, planters and cultivators.

Herman Hasenhauer of North Platte was second with a 1953 Allis-Chalmers WD.

Willa Sharp of Aurora, Neb. was third with a 1951 Massey-Harris Pony.
