More than 70 fourth graders from six schools in Lincoln County created posters depicting the danger of severe weather awareness this year, and several entrants were personally congratulated Monday by the Lincoln County Commissioners.

Hannah Hendricks of Hershey won the county contest and advanced to state, where she won honorable mention.

Lincoln County Emergency Manager Brandon Myers said it was difficult for him and his panel of judges to pick the best poster this year from all the entries, and thanked everyone who participated.

“It was wonderful this year,” Myers said.

Myers also thanked teacher Joni Keith of Maxwell and Brittaney Stenger of Hershey for their work in the contest. Keith and Stenger brought students to the commissioners meeting.
