Steven  K.  Jaenicke
     Steven K. “Jake” Jaenicke, 55, of North Platte passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 at Great Plains Health. He was born on Nov. 13, 1961, in North Platte to Robert and Delores (Yanken) Jaenicke.
     Steve graduated with the class of 1980 from North Platte High School and attended Mid Plains Community College.
     He worked at Denny Mogis for 20 years and then RC Trailer Sales. Most recently he worked for the North Platte Public Schools as a mechanic for the transportation department.
     For a number of years, Steve raced stock cars and later enjoyed mud racing.
     He is survived by his parents; sisters, Christie (Richard) Copper and Cindy (Rod) Wheeler, all of North Platte; nieces, Amy (Adam) Sabatka and Natasha (Kenny) Delso; nephews, Justin (Alicia) Copper, Matthew (Samantha) Wheeler, and Nathen (Trina) Wheeler; great nieces and nephews, Cindy and Jacob Copper, Josiah and Nizhoni Munson, Skylyre, Dominik and Jacksyn Delso, Z''ria and Kaylynn Wheeler; and other family.
     He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herbert and Ellen Jaenicke and George and Opal Yanken.
     Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 13 at the First Assembly of God Church and burial will be at the Paxton Cemetery. Carpenter Memorial Chapel is in care of arrangements.
