Dorothy  Ilene  Johnston
     Dorothy Ilene Johnston, 86, of Hastings, formerly of North Platte, passed away Friday, June 14, 2013 at Hastings. She was born May 16, 1927 to Richard and Sedona (Kelso) Jensen at Elk Point, S.D.
     Dorothy was united in marriage Aug. 10, 1945 to Ronald C. Johnston at Oberlin, Kans. They were married for almost 65 years before Ron''s passing in April of 2010.
     She is survived by her daughter, Ronda (Tom) Rosenua of Hastings; her son, Kenneth B. Johnston of Hastings; grandchildren, Dawn Horn, Kent and Gina Lindenmath, Kenny Jr. Johnston and Cynthia and Reanna Johnston; great grandchildren, Domonique “Nique” Fisher, Shakira and Christopher, Jr. Horn, James Swanson and Austyn Lindenmath; her brother, Elwood “Red” (Millie) Jensen of Ogallala; Lori Edwards; and many nieces and nephews.
     She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; siblings, Anna Steck, Alfred Jensen, Mary O''Dell, Ines Bedford; sons, Raymond and Russell “Rusty” Johnston; infant children, Ronald Dean, Dorothy Ellen, Verna Ilene, Gary Lynn, Elaine Diane and Dale Leon; grandchildren, Kyle Johnston, and Eric and Dianna Lindenmath.
     A Celebration of Life was on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. Burial followed at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell. Carpenter Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
