Tennis: Bulldog boys win Scottsbluff InvitationalTell North Platte what you think

The North Platte High School boys' tennis team won the Scottsbluff Invitational on Saturday.

"This was a much needed tournament win for our guys, it's been a long time coming," NPHS coach John Lehmer said. "It's a good confidence boost for our players who have put in several years of hard work, and they are seeing that work pay off. Coach (Dale) Hall has built a solid team and we now have great team chemistry. We learned that we have a ton of work to do to gain more consistency and keep improving. We feel like we were nowhere near our best, yet we still had a good result. Hopefully that is good news for what we can potentially accomplish over the course of this season. Our guys know that this is just one small step towards where we want to go."

The Bulldogs had one first place finish on the day, which was provided by the No. 3 doubles team of Nathan Ostrander and Micah Daily, who won all six matches.

The No. 1 doubles team of Josh Cauffman and Cole Lohoefner, as well as Nate Merz and Thomas Hoatson at No. 2 doubles, finished second with five wins on the day.

In No. 1 singles, Avery Munson went 4-2 to finish second and in No. 2 singles, Bryce Lee went finished fourth.
