Overnight rain, sunny skies aheadTell North Platte what you think

An inch and a half of welcome rain fell overnight in a Bulletin rain guage near the middle of town, and there is a 30% chance of more rain this morning (Wednesday), mainly before 11 a.m.

At the North Platte Regional Airport on the east side of the city, 1.3 inches fell overnight, the National Weather Service reported. At Lake Maloney, 2.1 inches fell, Bulletin reporter Joe Chitwood said.

Looking ahead through the weekend, the forecast is for sunny skies with highs from 85-90 degrees through Sunday, the weather service said.

On eclipse day, Monday, there is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. However, the skies will be mostly sunny and a high near 88 degrees, the weather service said.
