Auditions for Peter and the Starcatcher are at 7 p.m. on Monday-Tuesday Aug. 14-15 downtown at the North Platte Community Playhouse, near Fifth and Bailey.

Playhouse manager Scott Carlson said the casting call is for:

▪ 5 women ages 16-45

▪ 9 men ages 16-50

▪ Fun people

▪ Stage hands, lighting team, sound team, costumes and volunteers.

This show is mostly dialogue, but has some music, so auditions will be in three parts.

1) Acting

2) Singing

3) Choreography.

This is community theatre and we want people who want to have fun first and foremost. No experience is necessary, Carlson said.

The Tony-winning play, Peter and the Starcatcher, upends the century-old story of how a miserable orphan comes to be "The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up (a.k.a. Peter Pan)."

From marauding pirates and jungle tyrants to unwilling comrades and unlikely heroes, Peter and the Starcatcher playfully explores the depths of greed and despair, and the bonds of friendship, duty and love.

A wildly theatrical adaptation of Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson’s best-selling novels, the play was conceived for the stage by directors Roger Rees and Alex Timbers, and written by Rick Elice with music by Wayne Barker.
