AMBER Alert cancelled - Omaha boy foundTell North Platte what you think

An Amber Alert was issued in Nebraska Wednesday afternoon for an Omaha boy who was missing, and the boy was found Wednesday evening.

The child is safe and the suspect is in custody, the Nebraska State Patrol said.

Police arrested 33-year-old Michael Westerholm, the boy's father.

The Omaha police were looking for an 8-year-old child, Driver Smith, who was believed to be in danger.

The AMBER Alert™ Program is a voluntary partnership between law-enforcement agencies, broadcasters, transportation agencies, and the wireless industry, to activate an urgent bulletin in the most serious child-abduction cases. The goal of an AMBER Alert is to instantly alert the entire community to assist in the search for and the safe recovery of a child.
