A North Platte man was arrested Sunday and charged with shooting a gun at the ceiling of a room in a North Platte home.Daryl Jones, 30, reportedly threatened two people at 11:04 p.m. on Thursday.
Police went to the home that night in the 900 block of S. Tabor to check out the report.
Officers were told that two men with firearms threatened a 53-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man, police spokesman John Deal said.
Reportedly, Daryl Jones and an unidentified man arrived at the home and went inside, uninvited.
Deal said Jones and the victims are familiar with one another, and Jones reportedly pointed a handgun at both the man and woman.
Jones was reportedly looking for a man and demanded to know where the man was. He not only threatened the victims with the gun, he reportedly fired a shot into the ceiling.
Jones and the man with him left before police arrived, but police found evidence in the ceiling that a shot was fired.
Officers found Jones Saturday evening riding in a vehicle near H and Cottonwood. The car was pulled over, and Jones was arrested. He is charged with using of a weapon to commit a felony (terrorist threats), as well as discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling.
The firearm was not recovered and the investigation continues, Deal said.
Jones is held on $75,000 bond, according to sheriff’s records.
