Plum Creek Canyon boat ramp to be renovatedTell North Platte what you think

The boat ramp at Plum Creek Canyon Lake will close by July 14 for renovation, the Central Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation District said Tuesday.

The ramp is expected to remain closed for several weeks while the project is underway.

The district is working with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission to improve boater access and fishing at the lake. The lake is just west of Johnson Lake along Central’s supply canal, Central spokesman Jeff Buettner said Tuesday.

The renovation includes a new concrete boat ramp to replace the existing gravel ramp, as well as a new a fishing node and sidewalk adjacent to the ramp.

Improvements will also be made to the parking area and access road to the ramp, which is on the south side of the reservoir.

A similar boat ramp renovation will take place in September at Jeffrey Lake, south of Brady.
