Every year, a small group of folks embark on a mission to produce the best possible celebration we can pull together.Their mission is to bring as many people to our community as possible, all while keeping our local residents in mind, as we Celebrate Nebraska.
This year, I'm happy to share with you that Nebraskaland Days had visitors from 40 of our nation's states. Our numbers were up at our major ticketed events.
We hosted the NE150 Grande Parade, which was broadcast live across our state on four NBC stations.
And, we hosted the CMT Hot 20 Countdown during concert weekend, which was delivered to more than 9 million households in our nation.
We're proud of Nebraskaland Days 2017.
But we couldn't do it without so much support from our community.
Our sponsorship programs had a fantastic year. We could fill a page with those folks who supported us in one form or another. To each of you -- our thanks.
The volunteers in our community organizations who contribute to our celebration are countless. We couldn't pull this off without you. We thank you.
To the city of North Platte, and everyone who works for them -- we know it isn't always fun. But we couldn't do what we need to do without you. Thank you.
A special thanks to the Lincoln County Visitor's Bureau, who helped in ways this year that only they could. You make our jobs easier. Thank you.
And finally, to our board of directors and Buffalo Bill Rodeo Committee, who volunteer countless hours of their time with little in return except a thank you, and the satisfaction of seeing this thing roll -- we are forever in your debt. None of this happens without you.
Now -- back to work on 2018!
