Mail: Support Salvation Army, play golf Tell North Platte what you think

We are proud to announce our first golf fundraiser for the North Platte Salvation Army.

This is an important fundraiser that enables us to provide services for more than 5,000 people a year. We provide families a sanctuary from chaos, have their physical needs attended to and hear the good news of salvation.

The 2017 golf outing, the Red Shield Classic, begins at 9 a.m. June 3 at River’s Edge in North Platte.

The format will be an 18-hole scramble with lunch, prizes and a program about how people are helped every day by your local Salvation Army facility.

The goal for the event is to get 12-15 team captains to field teams to play, raise money for programs and have a great time. We hope the event is well received and plan on it annually.

How much does it cost?

Since we are trying to raise money for vital services and make the event sustainable, we hope that each golfer will write a check for $50 to cover their golf, meal and prizes and also get four people to sponsor him/her for $50 each.

With each golfer attempting to raise $250, we hope to net $5,000 for vital programs to help families in need.

If you need players to round out your team let us know. See you on the 3rd!
