Mail: Be involved: talk to your school board memberTell North Platte what you think

Who is at the top of the chart for educating the children of the North Platte Public School district? It is you.

You have hired six Lincoln County citizens to represent you on a board at no cost. As their boss, are they fulfilling the duties of their description?

What can you do to help them be the best employee?

Let them know what you expect or want, including explanations. Be assertive. Call your representative or drop them a note.

Write a letter to the school board or a letter to the editor. Attend the school monthly meeting, which will be May 8 at 5:30 p.m. at the McKinley Education Center.

Don't wait until we can only complain about the budget or any educational shortfall. Get informed and speak up now. Numbers count.
