Mail: Letter carriers aim to Stamp Out HungerTell North Platte what you think

Saturday, May 13 marks the 25th anniversary of one of America’s great days of giving -- the National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger food drive.

Letter carriers walk through the community everyday, often coming face to face with a sad reality for too many – hunger.

Letter carriers across the country collect non-perishable food donations from our customers. These donations go directly to local food pantries to provide food to people in the North Platte area who need our help.

Last year, more than 80 million pounds of food was collected nationally, feeding an estimated 64 million Americans (1 in 6), who are unsure where their next meal is coming from.

Participating is easy – just leave your non-perishable food donation in a bag by your mailbox on Saturday May 13 and your letter carrier will do the rest.

Thank you for your help.

By Janet Kelsey, North Platte City Letter Carrier and member, National Association of Letter Carriers #258
