St. Patrick's seniors honoredTell North Platte what you think
 

Twenty-six North Platte St. Patrick High School seniors were recognized Wednesday for their educational achievements during the annual senior honors assembly.

Chase Ochs received the Top Average Award for Religion, English, Science, Social Science, and Business. Aaron Allison received Top Average for Math. Chase Ochs and Jessica Slattery tied for first in Spanish.

Seventeen seniors were recognized for being on the honor roll this year.

Chase Ochs and Lane Knisley were recognized for having perfect attendance their senior year.

Recognized as 13-year students at North Platte Catholic Schools were: Kaitlin Adkins, Aaron Allison, Christopher Borden, Samuel Bradney, Ellie Buhrman, Garrett Foust, Andrew Jarvis, Nelson Jett, Amanda McClellen, Riley Nitsch, Chase Ochs, Rebecca Pasquinelly, Jessica Slattery, Allison Thalken, Gabriel Vyzourek and Cameron Winder.

Jordyn Childears received the School Board Outstanding Senior Award, selected annually by the faculty. Jordyn was also recognized as the Student of the Year by the Student Council. She received the following scholarships: Wayne State College RHOP Scholarship, Nebraska Wesleyan University President’s, NWU Achievement, University of Nebraska-Lincoln Legends, UNL James Canfield, University of Nebraska-Omaha Dean’s Scholarship, University of Nebraska-Kearney Chancellor’s, St. Patrick Student Council, NebraskaLand University Scholarship, Al Robinson Memorial, Cash for College, Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation North Platte Optimist Jerry Loveland Memorial, Heirigs Student Athlete, and the Mid Nebraska Community Foundation Kahabi Scholarship. Jorydn also earned the Presidential Academic Excellence Award, Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award, Mid-Plains Community College Credit Completion Award (for students completing 12 or more college credit hours), and was an Omaha World Herald All-Academic Team Honorable Mention. Jordyn was also a nominee to the North Platte Telegraph Academic All-Stars, Wendy’s High School Heisman nominee, and was a NSAA Believers and Achievers school nominee. 

Aaron Allison received the following scholarships: University of Nebraska-Lincoln David’s, University of Nebraska-Omaha Regent’s, University of Nebraska-Kearney Regents, The Mary Salcetti Pandorf, St. Patrick High School Student Council, and McDaid Aide Scholarship. Aaron is a Knights of Columbus Council #1211 (alternate). He earned the Presidential Academic Excellence Award, SPVA Top 10 ACT medal, The Art Study League of North Platte Outstanding Art Award, and the Mid-Plains Community College Credit Completion Award. He was also a NSAA Believers and Achievers School Nominee. 

Christopher Borden received the following scholarships: Hastings College Ringland, Doane University Van Hoy, and the Nebraska Wesleyan University Archway Scholarship.  He earned the Mid-Plains Community College Credit Completion Award.

Samuel Bradney received the Mid-Plains Community College Credit Completion Award and a Cash for College Scholarship.

Ellie Buhrman received the Haven & Virginia Smith Scholarship, Sharon Goffena Scholarship, and the McDaid Aide Scholarship. She earned the Mid-Plains Community College Credit Completion Award.

Brayden Divine received the Mid-Plains Community College Inter-High Day Scholarship and the College Opportunity Scholarship.

Garrett Foust received the American Red Cross “Young Minds Change Lives” Scholarship and the Hastings College Academic Scholarship and Athletic –Track Scholarship.

Justin Gafke received the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Veteran’s Administration Tuition Assistance Scholarship. He earned the Presidential Academic Excellence Award and the Mid-Plains Community College Credit Completion Award.

Tyler Galvan received the Buffalo Bill Kiwanis Scholarship and earned the Mid-Plains Community College Credit Completion Award.

Tanner Hand received the following scholarships: American Academy for Dramatic Arts Merit Scholarship, American Academy for Dramatic Arts Academy Honors Scholarship, American Academy for Dramatic Arts Opportunity Scholarship, Mary Salcetti Pandorf, Student Council, College Opportunity, and McDaid Aide Scholarships.Tanner was also awarded the Greg Gerdes Memorial Fine Arts Award.

Jonathan Hastings received the Mid-Plains Community College Freshman Academic Tuition Scholarship and earned the Presidential Academic Excellence Award and the Mid-Plains Community College Credit Completion Award. He is also the alternate for the Buffalo Bill Kiwanis Scholarship.

Nelson Jett received the following scholarships: Mid-Plains Community College Freshman Academic Tuition, NebraskaLand University, Concordia University Academic, Concordia University Athletic-Track/Cross Country, Hastings College Student Success, The Sharon Goffena Welton, Chris Jarvis Autumn River Run,and McDaid Aide Scholarships.  He is an alternate for the Eagles Aerie#2839 Scholarship.  Nelson earned the Outstanding Senior Speaker, Mid-Plains Community College Credit Completion Award and the Art Study League of North Platte Outstanding Vocal Award.

Jake Jones received the Mid-Plains Community College Credit Completion Award.

Lane Knisley received the Hastings College Academic Scholarship, Hastings College Athletic-Football Scholarship, Concordia University Academic Scholarship, Concordia University Athletic-Football Scholarship, The NebraskaLand University Scholarship, and the SAINTS Scholarship. Lane earned the Mid-Plains Community College Credit Completion Award.

Amanda McClellen received the following scholarships: Concordia University Achievement Award, Concordia University Cheerleading, Concordia University Athletic-Track, Midland University Athletic-Track, Doane University Community Award, Doane University Legacy Award, Doane University Visit Grant, Doane University Athletic –Track and Volleyball, Cash For College, Chandler Lee Ray Snyder Memorial, Al Mueller Rebounder Scholarship and the NebraskaLand University Scholarship.  She earned the Mid-Plains Community College Credit Completion Award.

Noah Munson received the University of Nebraska-Kearney Loper Excellence Scholarship, Nebraska Wesleyan Achievement Scholarship, NWU Black & Gold Scholarship, Fort Hays State University Scholar Award, FHSU Prudential Award of Distinction, and the Hastings College Ambassador Scholarship.  He earned an SPVA Top 10 ACT medal and the Mid-Plains Community College Credit Completion Award.

Riley Nitsch received the University of Nebraska –Lincoln Achievement Scholarship, University of Nebraska-Kearney Chancellor’s Scholarship, Doane University Presidential Scholarship, Doane University Athletic-Basketball Scholarship, Doane University Dance Team Scholarship, SAINTS Scholarship, NebraskaLand University Scholarship, Student Council and McDaid Aide Scholarships. She is the alternate for the GI DCCW  and Eagles #2839 scholarship. She also earned the Presidential Academic Excellence Award, The Art Study League of North Platte Visual Award, and the Mid-Plains Community College Credit Completion Award.

Chase Ochs received the following scholarships: University of Nebraska-Lincoln Regent’s, University of Nebraska –Lincoln Honor’s Program, University of Nebraska-Kearney Regents, and the Student Council scholarship.  He earned the Presidential Academic Excellence Award, Mid-Plains Community College Credit Completion Award, and SPVA Top 10 ACT medal award. He was also recognized as the North Platte Telegraph Academic All-Star and Omaha World-Herald All Academic Team-Honorable Mention. He was a school nominee for the Wendy’s High School Heisman.

Rebecca Pasquinelly received the following scholarships: Wayne State College Black & Gold Academic Excellence, Wayne State College Tuition, University of Wyoming Rocky Mountain Scholars, University of Nebraska-Lincoln Opportunity Grant, Mid-Plains Community College Freshman Tuition, The Sharon Goffena Scholarship, Knight of Columbus Council #1211, NebraskaLand University, DCCW Scholarhip American Red Cross “Young Minds Change Lives” and McDaid Aide Scholarship. She earned the Presidential Academic Excellence Award and the Mid-Plains Community College Completion Award.

Jessica Slattery received the Mid-Plains Community College Freshmen Tuition Scholarship, Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation Herbert & Bunny Hoover Scholarship, Robert E. & Margaret E. Rea Scholarship, NebraskaLand University Scholarship, Eagles Auxiliary #2839 Scholarship and the McDaid Aide Scholarship. She was named alternate to the Chandler Lee Ray Snyder Memorial Scholarship. She earned the Presidential Academic Excellence Award.

Allison Thalken received the Mid-Plains Community College Board of Governor’s Scholarship.

Gabriel Vyzourek received the following scholarships: University of Nebraska-Lincoln James

Canfield, University of Nebraska-Lincoln Legends, University of Nebraska-Omaha Dean’s, University of Nebraska-Kearney Chancellor’s, Hastings College Crimson, Hastings College Athletic-Baseball, Nebraska Wesleyan University President’s, NWU Achievement, Concordia University Regents, Concordia University Athletic-football, Doane University Presidential, Chadron State College Presidential Excellence, CSC Eagle Excellence, CSC Leadership-Room Waiver, CSC Academic Achievement, CSC G. Christofferson Athletic-Football, American Red Cross “Young Minds Change Lives”, NSIAAA, and the NebraskaLand University Scholarship.  He earned the Presidential Academic Excellence Award and the Mid-Plains Community College Completion Award.

Cameron Winder received the Mid-Plains Community College John & Mary Hunter Technical Scholarship, The Linda Rae Harrach Memorial Scholarship, The Knights of Columbus Council #1211 Scholarship and the Eagles Aerie 32839 Scholarship.  He was also recognized with the Art Study League Of North Platte Outstanding Instrumental Music Award and the Outstanding Senior Musician.

 

St. Pats graduation is 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 7 at St. Patrick Church.
