Every Nebraskan uses a nonp-rofit every day. In Nebraska, one in 11 people — your friends, family and neighbors — work for a nonprofit organization.

Non-profits and their volunteers help those less fortunate get the resources they need.

Several Nebraska communities have Giving Days this spring. On May 3, the Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation is  hosting North Platte Giving Day.

Approximately $15 million was donated across the state of Nebraska during Giving Days in 2016.

The Corporation for National and Community Service ranks Nebraska sixth in the nation when it comes to volunteerism.

“You can give a little, you can give a lot — from $10 to $10,000 — whatever people can give helps a non-profit in the North Platte area,” said Anne Hindery, CEO of the Nonprofit Association of the Midlands. “We invite citizens to join us and the Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation on May 3 to support the nonprofits that make your area great.”
