Compliance checks held in Lincoln CountyTell North Platte what you think

During Saturday evening, April 22, the Nebraska State Patrol conducted alcohol compliance checks at retail stores in Lincoln County.

Twenty businesses were checked, with one of them found to be non-compliant after selling alcohol to a minor -- the Holiday Plaza Conoco near the I-80 exit. NSP spokesman Mike Meyer said convenience stores, liquor stores, restaurants, and bars were checked.

Typically in compliance checks, the NSP sends an underage buyer into an establishment who tries to buy alcohol or tobacco.

Meyer said compliance checks ensure businesses are complying with the state’s alcohol laws and decreases youth access to alcohol.

These compliance checks were conducted thanks in part to a grant from Region II Human Services, Meyer said.
