Scoreboard brightens North Platte's soccer program Tell North Platte what you think

The NPPS soccer fields at Madison Middle School are a little brighter since a new scoreboard is in use, displaying the official game time and score in lights.

The scoreboards, installed last year, are in the first soccer season of use, said Danielle Remus of Nebraskaland National Bank, which donated money for the new board.

NPHS Activities Director Marc Mroczek said fans have complimented him on the addition of the scoreboards on the soccer fields and how nice they look.

Nearly 80 students participate in the soccer program.

NebraskaLand National Bank donated to sponsor the scoreboard. The school district will present a certificate of thanks to the bank between the junior varsity and varsity soccer games around 5:30 pm. Tuesday, April 25.

In addition, the bank will provide spectators with a grilled hamburger/hotdog dinner. Free will donations are accepted. Proceeds will benefit the soccer program, Remus said.
