Giving Day is May 3, a day set aside by Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation of North Platte for non-profits to collect donations.

This is also a great opportunity for you to help the Prairie Arts Center finish renovation of the second floor.

And we have a matching donor again this year, so everything donated, whether $10 or $10,000, will be matched. This is exciting news.

So remember us May 3. The PAC will be a drop off site for donations.  We will also be the location for the after-hour event, with cocktails, snacks and a chance to purchase a great centerpiece made by non-profits.

The Creativity Unlimited Arts Council is presenting a project to “Paint the Town Red with Geraniums!”

The CUAC is taking orders for red geraniums to be delivered the first week in May. Twelve hundred geraniums will be available for purchase, locally grown, for $5 each.

All money raised will benefit the Prairie Arts Center renovation project.

To order yours, call Cheri Erickson at 308-539-2469.

Herb market

It's spring, and the Prairie Arts Center will be hosting its annual Herb Market May 12-13 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Stop by for a variety of herb plants, flowers, local art pieces, handmade garden decor, food and refreshing rosemary and lavender lemonade.

You can also purchase drawing tickets for a flower cart made by Hal Weitzel and hand painted by myself. Tickets for the drawing are just $2 each or 3 for $5 and are on sale now at the PAC. Starting May 1, they will also be on sale at Gary's Super Foods.

The herb sale is from 9 a.m.-3 pm. The drawing is at 3 p.m. Saturday.

All monies raised benefit the Prairie Arts Center Project.

The Prairie Arts Center is at the corner of Fifth and Jeffers / US Highway 83.
