No Limits, Nebraska’s youth-led tobacco prevention movement, will take on Big Tobacco with a march and rally at the State Capitol on March 15.

The No Limits message will call attention to tobacco marketing tactics aimed at young people.

Approximately 80 teens in grades 7-12 from across Nebraska will participate in the event on Kick Butts Day, a global day of anti-tobacco activism promoted by the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, organizers said Monday.

Teens from 20 communities and 17 legislative districts are expected to attend.

The rally, planned for the west steps of the Nebraska State Capitol, will begin at 10:30 a.m.

No Limits Youth Board members Kamrin Edmonds of Wilber and Cecilia Ponce of Hartington, will speak about the impact of tobacco on their lives, and marketing tactics used by tobacco companies to target youth.

No Limits Kick Butts Day begins at 8 a.m., when youth will meet with individual state senators to share information about tobacco-related issues.

At 9:45 a.m., the No Limits group will march through the downtown area before returning to the State Capitol via 14th St. to begin the rally.

The march through downtown Lincoln begins at the First Christian Church, 430 S. 16th (northeast of State Capitol).
