Fundraiser set for Rape and Domestic Abuse shelterTell North Platte what you think

The North Platte Rape and Domestic Abuse shelter home will benefit from donations of household goods and money on Wednesday, March 8.

March 8 is International Women's Day and part of Women's History Month. The day calls attention to the fact that in Nebraska, women are paid $0.79 for every $1 paid to men, organizers say.

For every monetary donation of $1, $0.79 will be matched.

Donations can be dropped from 10 a.m.-noon at the Episcopal Church of Our Savior at Fourth and Sycamore.

Funds will be used to upgrade the security system at the RDAP shelter house.

Donations of household items such as paper products, used or new pots and pans, kitchen utensils, and so forth are welcome.

This event is sponsored by Suit Up Nebraska (SUN) a non-partisan, women-led group of Nebraskans focused on political activism, research, education, economic empowerment, advocacy and inter-community dialogue.
