A Flat Rock Features art show is now on exhibit at the Art and Gift Gallery in downtown North Platte.

The show features dominant landmarks in North Platte, both past and present, and the works are on a variety of art mediums, including wood carving, acrylic painting, photography and pencil drawing.

The show was publicized as a competitive show and the winning entries are:

Don Haw's took first place for his wood carving, "Sioux Lookout Indian."

Second place was awarded to "The Beginnings," a photograph by Linda Knepp.

Third: "Golden Spike," a photograph by Virginia Clark.

Two Honorable Mention ribbons were also awarded -- "Sale Barn," a color pencil drawing by Sue Perez, and "Veterans Memorial," an acrylic painting by Pat Vigil.

Flat Rock Features will remain on exhibit through February and will be followed in March by the area High School Art Show, sponsored by the Art Club at North Platte High School.

The Art and Gift Gallery is an artist's cooperative located at 516 No. Dewey in North Platte. Visiting hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
