Prairie Arts Center's gallery exhibit now features "A Walk in the Woods" -- carvings and wood artistry.

Wood carvers and artists from across the area display their pieces through the end of February, showing the fine grains of wood, expert design and attention to detail.

Viewers can get a feel for different textures of native woods and the creations that can exist inside each piece.

Photographer Marty Mora also has photographs on display, depicting the beauty of Nebraska landscapes and people.

Also this month, a paint with acrylics class is available from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, with instruction from Pam Cullen.

The class is called, "Girl in the Rain." Sign up at the Mid Plains Center for Enterprise or at the Prairie Art Center. The class will be held in the studio level of the art center.

The fee is $40. Refreshments and snacks are included.
