Police rounded up three men over the weekend who were allegedly involved in stealing vehicles from Colorado.

One of the men was in possession of a stolen license plate, police spokesman John Deal said, and the other two men were using a U-Haul trailer that was reported stolen in Colorado.

The three are all in the Lincoln County jail, charged with possession of stolen property, a felony punishable by up to 50 years in prison.

Deal said the first arrest started at 8:40 a.m. on Friday, when police compiled enough information to obtain a search warrant for drugs at a home in the 1900 block of West Sixth.

The warrant was served and the resident, Toni Allen, 29, was contacted along with a man identified as Arthur Lacroix IV, 41.

Deal said police found items consistent with drug use, including several pills of Tramadol in the home. Allen did not have a prescription for Tramadol. And, a pickup parked outside that apparently belonged to Lacroix was searched and a license plate that was reported stolen out of Denver was found inside.  Allen was charged with possession of Tramadol and taken to jail. Lacroix was charged with possession of stolen property.

Deal said some items from the home were sent to the Nebraska Crime Lab for further testing, so more charges could be filed when the test results are complete.

It was the fourth time one of the men, Anthony Fleecs, has been arrested since May.

At 1:47 p.m. Sunday, police received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle at Advanced Auto Parts.

Deal said a store employee reported two men were trying to sell tools out of a U-Haul and the men had also mentioned selling drugs.

The men had left in the U-Haul before police arrived but the employee had a license plate number. The U-Haul was reported stolen in Brighton, Colo.

A short time later, two men pulled up again in the U-Haul. Officers verified the plate, identified the men as Ivan Krell, 23, and Anthony Fleecs, 19, and charged them with possession of stolen property.

Krell is believed to be from California and Fleecs has ties to North Platte, Deal said.

The U-Hhaul was impounded and will be searched at a later time to determine if more charges would apply.

Police determined the U-Haul was actually rented in Colorado by Arthur Lacroix IV, who did not return it when it was due in early January.

Lacroix was also charged with felony possession of stolen property, Deal said.

Allen is held on a $10,000 bond. The men were initially held without bond pending court appearances.
