Colorado woman charged with child neglectTell North Platte what you think

A Colorado woman is charged with leaving her small children alone in a North Platte motel while she went shopping.

Sheriff’s deputies received a call around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday afternoon that a woman -- later identified as Sabra Goff, 34, of Colorado Springs -- left her children alone at Motel 6, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies found a four-month-old infant as well as a two-year-old in the room. They soon located Goff who apparently had been shopping. She appeared to be highly intoxicated, the sheriff said.

The children thankfully were being attended by motel staff.

Goff was charged with child neglect and transported to the Lincoln County jail. The children were placed with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.
