Jordan Biere, 21, of North Platte was charged Friday with first-degree sexual assault of a teenager.

Police were alerted Jan. 9 to the possibility that Biere was having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl, spokesman John Deal said.

A witness said they saw Biere and the victim were engaged in a sexual act in September 2016, when the girl was 15-years-old.

The girl was interviewed at the North Platte Child Advocacy Center, where a sexual relationship was described in the summer and fall 2016 at a home in the 100 block of No. Hayes in North Platte.

Biere was arrested Saturday at that address without incident, Deal said.

The first-degree charge applies because Biere is older than 19 and the alleged victim was under the age of 15, Deal said.

Biere faces a maximum of 50 years in prison if he is convicted. Bond was set at $100,000.
