The North Platte Catholic schools board of education discussed Catholic Schools Week and the foundation’s fundraising campaign when the board met Tuesday, Jan. 17 at its monthly meeting.A report from the public relations committee highlighted activities to recognize and celebrate national Catholic Schools Week, Jan. 29-Feb. 3.
Activities are planned for Holy Spirit and St. Patrick’s parishes, as well as in the schools during that week.
Mayor Dwight Livingston will deliver a proclamation to open the school assembly on Jan. 30.
The PR committee also noted the date for an information/enrollment night at McDaid Elementary – Feb. 7.
Endowment Director Wendy Dodson reported that the Forward in Faith campaign has collected $2,005,795.85 to date.
There are 18 months remaining in the campaign to surpass a goal of $2.5 million in pledges.
Also, Supt. Kevin Dodson led a preliminary discussion concerning the 2017-18 school year budget and tuition rates.
The board will set tuition rates for next school year at the February meeting, which will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21 in the St. Patrick’s high school library.
