The North Platte High School softball team (14-6) swept a doubleheader with Kearney Tuesday at North Platte.
North Platte jumped out to an early lead and roared to an 11-1 victory in game one.
Seven runs in the first three innings allowed North Platte to put the game away early. Christina Yoshida racked up two RBI on two hits for North Platte. She singled in the third and fourth innings.
Jenny Keck got the win for North Platte. She allowed one run over four innings. She struck out two, walked none, and gave up five hits.
North Platte matched its four-run third inning with four more in the fourth. In the third, Yoshida kicked things off with a single, bringing home Willow Chitty and Mikenzi Wiseman. That was followed up by Marissa Ramos's single, scoring Yoshida and courtesy runner Erin Weaver.
Aiming at home run record
Game two proved to be a huge one for North Platte's catcher Wiseman, as she clubbed two home runs to propel North Platte to a 9-1 victory in five innings.
Wiseman has already tied the school record for home runs in a single season with 4.

In the second inning, an error, a two-run home run by Wiseman, and an RBI single by Cotton fueled North Platte's offense.
Marissa Ramos recorded the win on the mound for the Lady Dawgs. She struck out four, walked two and gave up five hits.
North Platte was sparked by Wiseman and Cotton, who teamed up for five hits and four RBIs.
In the fourth inning, North Platte scored on Wiseman's second home run of the game.
Next, North Platte will be in action Saturday as they host the North Platte Invitational at the Dowhower Softball Complex.
