The Maxwell volleyball team finished second at the Loomis tournament Saturday.
Maxwell (5-1) defeated Hampton and Shelton in the opening games but suffered their first loss of the season to Bertrand in the finals.
To start the day, Maxwell defeated Hampton (1-5), 25-19, in the Wildcats' first game of the tournament. In the second game, the Wildcats hung on to win, 25-23.
Against Shelton (4-3), Maxwell won two straight, 25-21, 25-14.
In the finals, Bertrand defeated the Wildcats in two consecutive games, 25-20, 25-16.
For Maxwell, Anna Crane had 12 kills, 3 ace serves and 31 digs in the tournament. Aura Adkisson had 6 kills, 3 ace serves and 2 stuff blocks. Josie Cox had 23 kills and 6 stuff blocks. Kayla Stenger had 3 kills, 12 digs and 37 set assists. Tracy Blake had 14 kills, 1 ace serve and 18 digs. Naomi Schaub had 3 ace serves and 40 digs, and Rachel Stubbs had 20 digs.
