The North Platte Community College men’s basketball team’s Ben Wilson signed to continue his playing career with Division I Idaho State of the Big Sky Conference.
Wilson was a team captain of the Knights team that won a school record 30 games and made it to the final 16 teams at the National Junior College Athletic Association Tournament.
Wilson averaged 9.9 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. Wilson was also named to the All Nebraska Community College First Team, the All-Region IX Second Team and the Honorary Captain of the All-Nebraska Junior College Team.
Wilson also excelled in the classroom as he finished his college career with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Wilson joins a Bengal team that finished the year 6-24 and loses five seniors. Wilson is the third Knight to sign with Idaho State joining Chase Grabau and Kamil Gawzydek who both signed in 2010.
“Ben was instrumental in helping our team qualify for the National Tournament as a two-time All-Conference player and an All-Region IX selection this year,” said head coach Kevin O’Connor. “He was one of the best leaders to ever play for our program and was a very good all-around player. In addition he was a 4.0 student academically. We will miss Ben and wish him the best of luck at Idaho State University.”
