At 1 a.m. Sunday, Benjamin Fritz, 21, somehow managed to drive his 2010 Nissan Titan across three sets of railroad tracks along Front Street. Police said Fritz drove north off Oak (five blocks west of Willow) through the chain link fence at the edge of the tracks and directly across three sets of tracks. The truck somehow crossed the tracks until it reached the fourth set. The front end came apart and when the front hit the track, the truck flipped into the air and landed on its top between the tracks, according to the police report. The front and side air bags deployed but Fritz was injured and taken to the hospital. The $18,000 truck was totaled. Alcohol is suspected to be a factor, police said.
