Justice cannot be avoided forever.
Amber Michelle Araujo of North Platte turned herself in at 10:10 p.m. Tuesday to a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy.
Araujo, 25, failed to appear four times to face charges for having a loose dog. When she finally arrived to face justice, she was sent to jail.
In court the next day, she pled guilty to all four charges. By then, she’d been in jail for 16 hours.
County Judge Kent Turnbull fined her $50 for each charge plus $48 in court costs.
Araujo chose to sit out her fine and court costs in jail, at the rate of $90 per day.
