Twenty-three St. Patrick High School seniors were recognized May 2 for educational achievements at the school’s annual senior honors assembly. Andrew Vinton received the Top Average Award for Religion, English, Math, Science, and Social Science. Jiillessa Ochs received Top Average for Spanish. Marissa Madden received Top Average for Business. Barrett Pieper tied for Top Average in Math. Eleven seniors were recognized for being on the honor roll this year. Matthew Jensen, Marissa Madden, Alec McCaslin, Abby McCaslin, Shelby McClellen, and Andrew Vinton were recognized for having perfect attendance their senior year. Recognized as thirteen year students at North Platte Catholic Schools were: Jared Arensdorf, Matthew Jensen, Marissa Madden, Shelby McClellen, Barrett Pieper, Jacob Thompson, Peter Troshynski, and Andrew Vinton. Andrew Vinton received the School Board Outstanding Senior Award, selected annually by the faculty and the John Philip Sousa Award for Outstanding Senior Band member, He received the following scholarships: University of Nebraska-Kearney Board of Regents, University of Nebraska-Kearney Omaha World Herald/Kearney Hub Honors, University of Nebraska-Lincoln Top Scholar Award, Nebraska Wesleyan University Achievement, Doane College Hugh Butler –alternate, Doane College Football, Nebraska Association of County Officials, Mary Salcetti Pandorf, and earned the SPVA Top 10 ACT medal, Omaha World Herald All Academic Team Honorable Mention, the Presidential Academic Excellence Award and the North Platte Telegraph Academic All-Star School Nominee. Josiah Allison received the National Merit Finalist Award, University of Nebraska-Lincoln Chancellor’s Scholarship and the Presidential Academic Excellence Award. Josiah also earned the SPVA Top 10 ACT medal and the Omaha World Herald All Academic Team Honorable Mention. Jared Arensdorf received the following scholarships: University of Nebraska-Kearney Jean and Richard Rawson, Midland University Golf, Teamsters Local Union #554 Steve Schoening, Linda Rae Harrach and earned the Presidential Academic Excellence Award. Mitchel Ferguson received the following: Buffalo Bill Kiwanis Scholarship, Sharon Goffena Scholarship, and the American Red Cross “Young Minds Change Lives” Scholarship. Peyton Hansen received the Mid-Plains Community College Board of Governor’s Tuition Scholarship, Mid-Plains Community College Freshman Academic Tuition Scholarship, Mid-Plains Community College Inter-High Day Scholarship, Nebraska Independent Auto Dealers Association District Scholarship, and he earned the Presidential Academic Excellence Award Brian Honerman received the Sharon Goffena Scholarship, Alternate to the Eagles Aerie Scholarship and was awarded the Monday Musicale Award and was recognized with the National Choral Award for excellence in vocal music. Matthew Jensen received the German American Club Scholarship, the S.A.I.N.T.S. scholarship, McDaid Aide Scholarship and is an alternate for the American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship. Marissa Madden received the University of Nebraska-Kearney Jean and Richard Rawson Scholarship, Chadron State College Eagle Presidential Scholarship, Chadron State College Academic Achievement Award, the Mary Salcetti Pandorf Scholarship, McDaid Aide Scholarship and is an alternate for the Eagles Auxiliary #2839, and the K of C Council #1211 Scholarships. Marissa was named the Outstanding Senior Drama award, the Senior Class President award, and also earned the Presidential Academic Excellence Award. Abby McCaslin received the Irish Snack Shack Award. Alec McCaslin received the Irish Snack Shack Award. Shelby McClellen received the following scholarships: Chadron State Claude H. Lefler Memorial, Chadron State Gold Presidential Scholarship, University of Nebraska-Omaha Dean’s, Susan Thompson Buffett, K of C Council #1211; Al Robinson Memorial and earned the Presidential Academic Excellence Award. Rhett Nordquist received the Mid-Plains Community College Inter-High Day Scholarship and was an alternate for the K of C Council #1211 scholarship. Jillessa Ochs was awarded the Student Council Student of the Year, the Outstanding Senior Artist and Speaker awards. She received the following scholarships: University of Nebraska-Kearney Chancellor’s, UNK Dean’s, University of Nebraska-Lincoln James Canfield, North Platte Area Retired School Personnel, American Red Cross “Young Minds Change Lives”, Sharon Goffena, McDaid Aide, Daughter’s of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award and earned NSAA Believers and Achievers School Nominee, Omaha World Herald All Academic Team Honorable Mention, North Platte Telegraph Academic All-Star School Nominee, and the Presidential Academic Excellence Award. Kody Oltman received the following: University of Nebraska-Kearney Jean and Richard Rawson Scholarship, Nebraska Wesleyan University Academic Scholarship, Nebraska Wesleyan Achievement, Eagles Aerie #2839 Scholarship and earned the Presidential Academic Excellence Award. Dominic Pasquinelly received the American Red Cross “Young Minds Change Lives” Scholarship, K of C Council #1211 Scholarship, and the Robert E. and Margaret E. Rea Scholarship. Barrett Pieper received the following scholarships: University of Nebraska-Lincoln James Canfield, University of Nebraska-Lincoln Engineering College Dean’s Scholar, Haven & Virginia Smith, Student Council Scholarship, and the Kent Boyer Memorial Scholarship. He also earned the Presidential Academic Excellence Award and the SPVA Top 10 ACT medal. Luis Rivas received the Mid-Plains Community College Inter-High Day Scholarship. Sean Ryan received: Doane College Track Scholarship, Concordia University Track Scholarship, Concordia University Football Scholarship. Candice Shelton received: Eagles Auxiliary #2839 Scholarship; Mid-Plains Community College Basketball Scholarship; Concordia University Pretigious Achievements Scholarship, American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship, S.A.I.N.T.S. Scholarship, Altrus Club and the Lincoln County 4-H College Scholarship. Jacob Thompson received: Nebraska Conservation Officers Association Scholarship. Peter Troshynski received the Mid-Plains Community College Inter-High Day NPCC Facts Scholarship and was awarded the Monday Musicale Award and the Outstanding Senior Music award. Thatcher Vap received the Mary Salcetti Pandorf Scholarship.
