• Art and Gift Gallery (516 N. Dewey) – People and Places photo show, formerly the Fall Photography Show, is open to entry by any photographer. Categories will focus on: 1) formal or environmental portraits of people & 2) landscapes (including cityscapes). Gallery is open Tues-Sat. 11 a.m.–5 p.m.

• D&N Event Center (501 E Walker Rd) – Kid’s Klub Canteen Pancake Feed, celebrate Veteran’s Day early. Honoring veterans and current service members. Goodwill donations go towards soldier care packages we will make in December.  9–11 a.m.

• Prairie Arts Center (416 N Jeffers St ) – Beyond the Dream…Enriching the Lives of Dementia Patients. Art is therapeutic. Occupational Therapist Kaylene Sodawasser will speak about functional aspects of Alzheimer’s & the physical benefits of Dementia patients.  Lunch provided by Subway. Noon-1 p.m. No admission charge.

• Sculley’s Shooters (2221 East 4th) – Live music by the Kris Lager Band. 9 p.m.- close.

• Espresso Shop (419 N. Dewey) – Open Mic Nite. Refreshments on sale. 7-9:30 p.m. Creativity encouraged. $2-5 donation suggested.

• Neville Center (301 E. 5th St) – Tuck Everlasting, performed by the community playhouse. 8 p.m.  Admission $15, ages 16 & under $8, students with I.D. $8.

• Prairie Arts Center (416 N Jeffers) – Nicole Hoffmann, the director of the Mullen Arts Center, will speak on the mental benefits of art therapy. 10-11 a.m. No charge.

• American Legion Post 163 (2020 E. Fourth)  – Veterans Day observance. 11 a.m.

• VFW Post 1504 (2100 E. Fourth) – Ham and Bean feed, 11:30 a.m. until food is gone. No charge.

• Dewey St. downtown North Platte – Veteran’s Day parade. 2 p.m.

• 20th Century Veterans Memorial (2811 S. Jeffers ) – Veterans Day observance, 4 p.m. No charge.

Friday, Nov. 17

• Prairie Arts Center (416 N. Jeffers St) – Sneak peek at newly restored second floor & Festival of Trees,  6-8:30 p.m. Tickets $10. Price include a festive drink, food, music and Santa.

Saturday, Nov. 18

• Art and Gift Gallery (516 N. Dewey) – 30th anniversary reception 4-6 p.m. Food, artists, neighbors, door prizes and sales. 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

• Prairie Arts Center (416 N. Jeffers) – Festival of Trees. Decorated trees on display on the 2nd floor. 11 a.m.–5 p.m. The auction will be held on Sunday. Proceeds benefit area organizations.

• American Legion Hall (2020 E 4th St) – Thanksgiving dinner for military veterans & families. Traditional meal with trimmings. Free will donation. 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.

• North Platte Community Playhouse (301 E. 5th St) – Carousel of Homes, presented by North Platte Community Playhouse Guild. Four homes to be visited, enjoy the décor. 1 p.m., $15. Proceeds benefit playhouse.
