North Platte Ducks Unlimited is hosting a fundraiser banquet at the D&N Event Center on Friday, March 9.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:30. Pork butt, macaroni and cheese, beans, and salad will be served. The meal is $10. Kids 5 and under are free.

There will be children’s entertainment in a special area for the young ones.

Eleven guns will be raffled as well as 2 lifetime memberships. There will also be a live auction, silent auction and games.

Ducks Unlimited memberships will be available for $25.

DU is a non-profit 501© organization dedicated to saving wetlands. The primary waterfowl species that benefit from DU’s efforts include: Lesser Snow Goose; Canada Goose; White-Fronted Goose; Ross’ Goose; Mallard; Northern Pintail; Northern Shoveler; Blue-winged Teal; Green-Winged Teal; Redhead and Scaup.

There are more than 14,000 memberships to DU in Nebraska, with 80,713 total acres conserved within the state. More than 5 million acres have been conserved by DU in the U.S. — 1,300-3,400 acres in Lincoln County specifically, according to the organization.

Eighty-three percent of money raised is used for waterfowl and wetland conservation and education.

Fundraising and development accounts for 14%; administration and human resources, 3%, the group says.

Nebraska’s DU has raised $1,435,633 since their first fundraising event in the state.
