The pairings for the state soccer tournament were announced on Saturday and the North Platte High School boys’ soccer team got the wild card for the tournament after losing in the district final to Lincoln North Star on Thursday.

The Bulldog boys (11-4) will join the NPHS girls (12-3) at state. The girls beat Lincoln Pius X to win the district championship Wednesday.

It is the first time both the boys and girls qualified for state in the same year since 2004.

The North Platte girls are the No. 6 seed and they will play No. 3 seed Millard North (14-3) on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Morrison Stadium on the campus of Creighton University in Omaha.

The NPHS boys are the eighth seed and they will play top seed Omaha South (18-1) on Thursday at 1 p.m. at Morrison Stadium.
